A privacy respecting domain rating checker for Chrome and Firefox

Our free extension shows the rating of the site you are on, as a badge on the toolbar icon. Click it for the domain and the exact number.

Nothing you look at is written down

No history, no profile, no record against your account, nothing sold to anyone. We look up the rating and then the address is gone.

Install

The extension is on the Chrome Web Store. You need a free account, and to be signed in here, for it to show anything.

How it works

  • • Sign in on this site and the extension uses that, so there is no key to copy.
  • • When you switch tabs it asks us for one domain's rating and colours the badge: red under 30, amber under 60, green above.
  • • The answer stays in your browser for a day, so going back to a site does not ask us again. Closing the browser clears it.
  • • A red 0 means few good links point at that domain. A question mark means you are signed out.

About the permission warning

Chrome will tell you the extension can read your browsing history. That warning comes from the tabs permission, the only way to know the address of the tab you just switched to without you clicking the icon every time.

What we do with it: take the address of the site, cut it back to the main domain, ask for that domain's rating, and forget it. We do not write it down, keep it, or store it against your account. The full no-log policy is here.
